Sanlúcar de Barrameda is situated where the Guadalquivir River becomes one with the sea.
Although this small city its strategic location Sanlúcar has made it an influential city throughout much of the history of Spain.
Now, known as the gastronomical capital of Cádiz, it is a popular tourist destination for many Spaniards for its delicious prawns, fish, Manzanilla sherry wine, and beautiful long sandy beaches.
On this experience, you will discover the fascinating history and culture this town holds as we taste and enjoy some of the delicious gastronomy it is known for.
We will explore the old city with its high neighborhood made up of castles and palaces and the low neighborhood with its bodegas (wineries) and little tapas spots.
The TAPA & CULTURE experience is a perfect combination of history and gastronomy as we meander through the old charming streets of Sanlúcar.
This is one of my favorite ways to explore this area and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to experience this city the way the locals do.

Duration: 3/3.5 hours
The tour is between 3 to 3.5 hours long. Please keep in mind that most of the local spots do not take reservations. We do our best to be organized and keep up with our allotted time, but sometimes MURPHY law is real.
TRANSPORTATION
All of our experiences are done on foot. Please keep in mind the route is 4km (2.5 miles). If you would like to modify or do the experience by a private car, please contact us.
RESTRICTIONS
Please keep in mind that most Tapa bars are open between 12:00 and 16:00. *The tapa bars will vary as well as the time allotted to each place depending on the day and season this experience is done.*
The fish market is open between 09:00 – 14:00 Tuesday – Saturday.
