Discover Cádiz with Adri: Local History, Food, & Tours by a True Insider

Dec 12, 2023 | Uncategorized | 1 comment

Hi! I’m Adri, and I’m thrilled to meet you!

So, here’s the deal: I’m a history nerd. While I’m not a professional writer (and I might spell “Cádiz” wrong every now and then), I’ve always been fascinated by cultures, stories, and the incredible history around me. That’s why I’ve decided to attempt to become an expert on all things Cádiz. Bold Move, Right!

Why I Started This Blog:

This blog is my way of documenting my journey through Cádiz, my hometown. I want to share everything I learn, experience, and consume about this beautiful province, so you can skip the mistakes and dive straight into the best of Cádiz!

My Origin Story

BI’m technically Idahoan (from Idaho, USA), but fate had other plans. My parents moved to Europe in the ‘80s, and I was born in Rota, Spain. I grew up between the sunny coast of Cádiz and the snowy mountains of Germany.

I Know, I Know, SPOILED!

Fast forward to after high school, and I went to an American university in Europe (the U.S. felt a bit too far at 18). After getting my Master’s degree, I spent a few years in the States before coming to my senses and moving back to Spain in 2017.

Why I Love Cádiz:

Now, I’m back in my hometown with no grand plan—just a love for culture, food, and everything Cádiz has to offer. I began teaching English and got involved in local tourism, and that’s when I realized just how incredible my home province is.

I decided to combine my love of history with my passion for showing off this beautiful place, so I started organizing local tours and tapas experiences for visitors. When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring, staying active, and of course, indulging in all the amazing food this region has to offer.

Bonus: I’m a Foodie & Yoga Enthusiast

Oh, and I should mention—I’m a huge foodie. My days revolve around thinking about food, talking about food, and (naturally) eating food. Also, my best friend’s a yoga instructor, and I’ve been hooked on yoga ever since. So, if you’re into yoga, I know a fantastic instructor to recommend!

    Hi Adri

I’m still interested in in your service. But I don’t want to work via the website “with locals”. Can we do a direct deal? I would need your offer for three possible tours:
    1. Jerez for 3 hours. 09.00 – 12.00 in June 4
    2. Jerez for 6 hours including flamingo show on June 4
    3. Cadiz for 3 hours. 09.00 – 12.00 on June 5
I would prefer to pay cash.

    Best regards
    Walter
